Current Collection: Hot & Sour Soup for the Soul

The Babe Brigade's current collection is a toast to the Asian American identity. We're chatting with Asian American powerhouses about their personal journeys to finding cultural equilibrium in work and life, along with what they’ve learned along the way. Their stories expand upon conventional definitions of success, fulfillment, and leadership, shining the light on the magic of shared cultural spaces.

As for the season name: Hot & Sour Soup for the Soul? Rewind back to me at age seven, on my first trip back to China, where I was spending summer break with my Chinese relatives. That summer, I: (1) Combed through copious volumes of Chicken Soup for the Soul, in fear that I’d forget English...it was my first time leaving the US, and (2) Tagged along with my grandparents every Wednesday for lunch at the neighborhood restaurant, where our outing was not complete without a piping bowl of hot & sour soup.

Hearty servings of Chicken Soup for the Soul and hot & sour soup were the mainstay of my summer that year, and through this magical mix of East and West, I came to cherish cultural hybridity.

Hot & Sour Soup for the Soul is a celebration of unlikely combinations. It's an ode to multiculturalism.

The Babe Brigade is grounded in three tenants:

1) Style: Our collections speak; they don't shout. You tell your story, and we'll amplify your narrative.

2) Substance: Our collections are suitable for any occasion. You live a vibrant life, and we want to be there for as much of it as we can. 

3) Solidarity:  Our collections bring varying perspectives into dialogue, focusing on the "&" and putting to rest the "or". Magic lives in shared spaces.
